Have you been to the Nirvana Temple on St Thomas yet? I highly recommend stopping by tomorrow on May 1st for Rachael's last class of yoga from 5:30 to 6:30 pm - you will not regret it ;) Rachael's yoga classes have been amazing at the temple and I'm saddened that they are coming to an end.
The temple will be temporally closing from May 6, 2012 until June 31, 2012. Here are directions to the temple and more photos of the Nirvana Temple here.
Hope you can make it and love it as much as I do!!!

Whacha all up to this weekend? I had today off and went to Megan's Beach for a swim with friends and have to work this weekend photographing weddings. St Thomas has been celebrating Carnival all week and the island has been a little bit more crazy then normal - in-fact we've spent many day's without power because of Carnival. I'm really looking forward to May next week and things getting back to normal on St Thomas.
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend and to have time to blog with you all next week :)

"Go West, young man and grow up with the country."
John B Soule

It's officially booked!!! I am always asked where I go for vacation since I live in paradise already, and it looks like its San Francisco with a VW Camper Bus adventure through wine country and wherever the road takes me. I've never been on a real road trip or to the west coast and I'm so excited about this trip. Please let me know if you've done anything like this and have good advice for me.

All is well here in the USVI; I've been working hard and haven't had much time for anything fun to post. The weather has been really beautiful for the weddings that I've been photographing and I've met some lovely couples this last week. I have a few weddings this weekend and next week is looking like it will be a little more normal for me. Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? I'm trying to motivate a few of my friends over to Water Island for Monday movie night. How much fun will it be to watch a movie on Honeymoon Beach like in the photo above? Finally something to look forward to on a Monday:)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

The days are just flying by and I'm finding less and less time to post photos on Sage Island. The 'wedding season' has begun in USVI and it consumes me each year. I've been busy photographing weddings, just updated my website (take a look here), and dealing with a tons of personal stuff. I hope to find some time next week to share a little Caribbean inspiration with everyone, thanks for checking in!

How was your weekend? My weekend was filled with both hard work, relaxation on the beach with good friends, and I even made some new friends! I had a great weekend and I would love to do it all over again.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!!!

I'm not sure of any specific plans this weekend other then Eric and I are photographing a big wedding on Saturday that I'm very excited about.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Last night we ate at the Blue Orchid Restaurant at the St Peter Greathouse on the North Side of St Thomas. The restaurant opened a few months ago within one of St Thomas's most beautiful tropical botanical gardens. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation so that we could walk the nature trail and see what was in bloom. We really enjoyed our dining experience and would highly recommend eating at the Blue Orchid Restaurant. They where very busy when we where there so I would recommend making reservations at 340-774-4999.

Everyday that I pull into my driveway on St Thomas and I see amazing turquoise water, like in the photos above, and I wonder to myself, 'when will this view not take my breath away' and 'when will I no longer be surprised that the water is so vibrant?' Really, it's been over 5 years that I've lived here and I still say this to myself each day. So there's not a surprise that I want to go and experience this gorgeous water in Bora Bora. What do you say, should we pick up everything and spend a couple months trapped on these amazing islands?

Have you ever eaten Quinoa? It's a yummy whole grain and I made it for the first time with the recipe on the back of the package. It came out so good:

Quinoa Taboule

2 cups of cooked and cooled Quinoa
1 up chopped parsley
1/2 cup chopped scallions
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint (I recommend more)
1 garlic clove minced
1 Tbsp. minced fresh basil (I would do more)
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (I would put a little less or add a tbsp of sugar)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground white pepper

Toss all ingredients together. Chill for 1 hour to allow flavors to blend. Makes 6 servings.

I added a 1/2 cup of fresh diced tomatoes.
Happy cooking!!!

Well, I didn't need much  more coffee after looking at these photos from the 'Most Dangerous Race on Earth.' It's the worlds BASE Race for the title of 'The World's Fastest Flying Human Being;' can you imagine? The drop off the side of the mountain or cliff is 2,500 feet and all they're wearing is a wingsuit!!!
Hope these photos inspire you to take anything on this lovely Monday!
