Well, I finally found Mambo a bed that she really likes....sshhhh, don't tell her it's really a dog bed. The only way I got her to sleep in it is by placing it right next to my desk, so this is what I get to look at while I'm editing photographs and sending out emails. I love her!!!

PS I'm sure this is where she would rather sleep, here.

Since we've moved our cats have started sleeping on the couch, so I've started a search to get them their very own cat bed. Finding the right cat bed hasn't been an easy task on St Thomas, like the one in these photos - way too small! Apparently we have extra large cats, maybe we should be looking for a small dog bed.

This is how the bamboo cat tower was made to be used and you can see that Mambo is not going to fit.

With the tower on it's side Mambo could fit but wouldn't sleep in it.
Does your pet have a bed that it loves?

I always wish that my cats could travel with me, for selfish reasons, I don't think they would like it. I've tried to take them with me in my car before to check the mail in town to see if they would even like a little bit of adventure, that was a big NO! Ming and Mambo are happy to stay at home.

Do you spoil your pet?
Well, this cat has it's own condo on St Thomas located on Mt Top (yes, it has an ocean view with a breeze.) I think this cat is in heaven really, it never even looked at us!!! I'm hoping my cat's never see this photo...

Mambo missed me so much while I was away for the weekend she is still always at my side and it's Thursday. I'm not sure if this pose is her trying to be cute to get some loving or if she's just hot; what do you think?

Are you a cat or a dog person?
I have two cats, Mambo (above) and Ming.
They're a couple of bush cats that I adopted on St Thomas and tried to turn into house cats. Their not like an American house-cat on the way that they will not sit in my lap, they have really independent personalities that require space and respect.
I adore them.

My Ming.

Mambo, also known as MEE MEEE.

Mambo and Ming as kittens (notice the baby gate, they where once house cats.)

Three years ago this month I adopted two lovely kittens, brother and sister, Ming and Mambo, from the Humane Society (HS) on St Thomas. I still remember the day I went to the HS and first set eyes on them; they where in a separate cage from all the other cats because they had just been found in the jungle and where extremely feral. Of course I think they’re the best cats in the whole wide world; they have brought so me so much love and joy.

Did you know that you could adopt your own ‘island pet’ and take it home with you on the airplane? Well, it’s true, you can! Please visit the HS website at http://www.hsstt.com there are a lot of pets on St Thomas that are in need of a loving home.

Is it really Friday already? Where does the time go?

I’m looking for followers of Sage Island! Since you happen to be reading Sage Island at the moment may I suggest that you become a follower!!! I know that if Mambo and Ming had any computer ability they would definitely become a follower of Sage Island.
Just click on the Follower Button on the right hand column.
Have a great weekend!

A special THANK YOU to my first 7 Followers, you guys rock!!!

Today I’m importing the photographs that I made while I was in Sumner Maine visiting my family last week.

Last weeks temperatures dropped and where, without a doubt, some of the coldest days of the year in Maine, but I still had a great time and looking forward to sharing my photographs.

One of the first things I did when I got back to Sweet Bottom on St. John was plant a few seeds that I picked up in Maine. I hope the string beans from Falmouth Maine will grow here on St. John.

P.S. Mambo missed me so much she hasn't left my side :)

Just realized that my cats have been tricking me into feeding them a second breakfast. Eric feeds them before he leaves for work.

That explains why Mambo has gotten so fat since our move to St. John. Now she is fallowing me around all day begging, how do I tell her she's on a diet?
