Last night we went for a sunset sail with Captain Fred and First Mate Renee on Sail Pepper, it was amazing! Sail Pepper is a yellow 23’ traditional Island Sloop that is moored at Little Maho Bay on St John and I’ve been eyeing it for the last year from Francis Beach. Sail Pepper can accommodate up to 6 passengers and sails beautifully. Renee served a delicious rum drink with local juices that she called a “Bob Marley.”

We had such a great time sailing and watching the sunset on Sail Pepper. I highly recommend this experience to anyone vacationing on St John, we’re looking forward to doing it again.

Captain Fred was kind enough to drop us off on our beach, thank you!!!

Vieques is the perfect small island getaway in the Caribbean: beautiful beaches, good food, nice people, convenient location, and relaxing. The island isn’t crowed or over commercialized so you can really relax and enjoy your tropical vacation experience. Here is a small list of our favorite things we did while we where vacationing on Vieques.

We also really loved just renting a jeep and driving around the island.

Can you believe how beautiful this orchid flower is?
Eric's father is growing it at his house on Mt Top and said that he's had it for over 10 years and this is it's first flower.

Hope you and mom have an amazing day celebrating in Portland! I can't wait to hear where you go out for dinner :)

Here is some footage of our resident twin fawns that were born this past spring, they are simply adorable. The little fella is trying to knock genips out of the tree to eat. A genip is a seasonal tropical fruit that tastes like a melon but has the soul of a cherry. To enjoy this Caribbean treat you crack open the green rind and suck the fruit of the seed. Its a great beach snack and very portable.

Another post with photos of the twin fawns HERE.

The Triplets of Belleville is one of my favorite movies.
It is truly an original animated film like no other, that tells a fabulous story about a grandmother and a faithful dog tracking her grandson, a cyclist that was been kidnapped by mysterious henchmen. The music is simply wonderful and descriptive, in fact, I don't remember even one line of dialogue in the movie. If you like the trailer above you will love The Triplets of Belleville too!

I'm not really sure why I let Monday's bother me, but they always feel like a lot of work.
Today I don't even have to leave the house if I don't feel like it because I can work from home.
I need to change my Monday attitude.
Change!!!

When was the last time you went on a ferris wheel?
I can't remember ever being on one, it's been that long.
Yesterday my mom and dad went to a festival in Maine and went on a ferris wheel. I can't wait to see their photos. I love knowing my parents are still having fun and doing things that surprise me.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and finding themselves a little surprised at how much fun they are having doing something unexpected.
xoxo

We have two twin fawns that we've been watching in our front yard for the last few months. They are so sweet, playful, and a joy to watch. They've gotten so big over the last month.

I'm in denial that it's Friday.
I just have way too much to do and need a couple more days, I'm going to pretend it's Wednesday. I'm thinking I can get away with it because I live on a little island and everyone always refers to 'the real world' while their here.

Do you have any weekend plans?
Obviously I'm working, but I was thinking of taking off one day and spending the night at Concordia. That is if the rain stops.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I never thought I would love food from a truck but my mouth waters every time I think about my lunch at Sol Food. I ate the Caribbean Pulled Pork Sandwich with a Pinchos Skewered Spanish Shrimp on the side – amazing!!! Sol Food is on your way to all of the popular beaches on Vieques, so you never have to pack a lunch for the beach while on vacation. Please visit Sol Food’s website HERE. Tripadvisor has them rated as #2 restaurants in Isla de Vieques, yes they're that good!!! We also loved Bili Restaurant for dinner, check them out on Yelp HERE.

Do you have wanderlust?

I keep thinking it's one of those things I'll grow out of. I've had this itchy, anxious need to get-up and get going for as long as I can remember. When I was young I thought it was just a need to move away from my home state (Maine) and live in a new place.

In my 20’s I was living in Manhattan and I still had this feeling and thought being an international flight attendant would quench my wanderlust. I found that traveling around the world, literally, only fueled my desirers. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Caribbean; people say “I’m living the life in paradise.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy, but I still have that itchy need to get on a plane and experience a new part of the world I had never imagined.

Maybe wanderlust is part of who I am? Um…do you have any recommendations on must see places in the world?
